The Grace Christian Academy Spirit program consists of two entities that function as one – the JV/Varsity Cheerleading squads and the GCA Official Mascot. The primary purpose of the Cheerleading squads and Eagle Mascot is to uphold school spirit; support the assembled sports teams and Grace Christian Academy in a positive, Christ-like manner.

Our Team Motto:
One of our biggest outreach efforts is the Eaglette program. This program kicks off at the beginning of each new year and is used to mentor young athletes in 1st – 5th grade.
The JV and Varsity squad members introduce participants to basic cheer techniques and choreography. Instruction is also provided on our most popular crowd cheers and chants. The Eaglette squads then make guest-appearances at JV basketball games after learning the new material. This provides an opportunity to perform at half-time and showcase their recently learned skills. These performances are always a crowd favorite. In 2017, we plan to introduce the Mighty Mite squad which will consist only of grades K3-K5.

The GCA Spirit program is led by Larissa Alderman and supported by a team of loving coaches and sponsors including Patsy Goolsby, Jessica Weaver, Dave McWilliams and Rhonda Wofford. Together, they serve as the support-system for the Cheerleaders and GCA Mascots.
The spirit program is comprised of several moving parts including the mascot program featuring Swoop and Swoopette, a Varsity sideline squad, a Varsity competition squad, an Eaglette (1st – 5th) and Mighty Mite (K3-K5) squad.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
